Gabriel Landeskog scored his 4th NHL hat trick and added an assist while Nathan MacKinnon added a goal and 4 assists to help the Colorado Avalanche score a touchdown on the Winnipeg Jets Thursday night in a 7-1 victory at Ball Arena in Denver.

Although Mark Scheifele got things going for Winnipeg early on, making it 1-0 Jets 2:56 into the game, that would be the only goal they would score, as the Avs subsequently added 7 unanswered goals throughout the remainder of the game. After Scheifele's effort, Nazem Kadri's 12th of the season at 16:20 tied things at 1, and it would stay that way heading into the first intermission.

5:20 into period 2, Landeskog logged his first of the night on the power play, his 11th of the season. 5 and a half minutes after that, Mikko Rantanen got his 16th of the season at 10:28 to make it 3-1 Colorado. Landeskog would add his 2nd of the game at 15:21, his 12th of 2021-22, to make it 4-1 Avs heading into the 2nd intermission.

In the 3rd period, no goals were scored by either side until 12:17, when MacKinnon got his 4th of the season past Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck to make it 5-1 Colorado. At 17:10, Landeskog would complete his hat trick with his 13th of the season, once again on the power play to make it 6-1. Later on, Bowen Byram would finish off the Jets with 11 seconds in regulation left also on the power play, his 5th of 2021-22.
