Boeser Tallies 4 Goals, Canucks Thrash Oilers

Brock Boeser became the NHL's latest 3+ goalscorer, after also completing a natural hat trick in the Vancouver Canucks' 8-1 thrashing of the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday night at Rogers Arena.

Connor Garland was first on the scoresheet for Vancouver, at 8:06 of the first period, before Boeser's first of the night made it 2-0 Canucks at 11:27. Vancouver would hold that 2-0 lead heading to the 2nd period, where as fate would have it, Boeser tallied his next two goals back to back, completing a natural hat trick (3 goals in a row by one player of one team), and in the process, achieving his 4th career NHL hat trick. Boeser's hat-raining goal came on the power play at 7:30 of period 2, after his 2nd of the game at 4:03 made it 3-0 Vancouver before it soon became 4-0 Vancouver.

Leon Draisaitl scored the lone goal of the game for the Oilers at 8:20, also on the power play, but it did little to even faze Vancouver, who made it 5-1 with a PPG of their own by Elias Pettersson at 11:08. The Canucks held that 5-1 lead heading to the 3rd period, where Boeser would notch his 4th of the game at 5:43, before Vancouver made it 7-1 off of another PPG from J.T. Miller at 6:56. Second year center Dakota Joshua provided the 8th Vancouver goal at 14:48 to finish off the already thoroughly beaten Oilers.

Vancouver and Edmonton actually face off again for both of their next games, except it's back at Rogers Place in Edmonton rather than Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Puck drop is scheduled for October 14 at 10 p.m.
