Brock Nelson's 4 Goals Sacre Bleu Canadiens

Brock Nelson scored 3 and a half minutes into the game en route to an astonishing 4-goal game Thursday night against les Canadiens in Montreal. Nelson would complete his hat trick mid-2nd period and finish off the Habs that night with an empty-netter with 19 seconds on the clock. Montreal struggled the entire night, their 2021-22 season woes continuing, scoring only in the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period.

Oliver Wahlstrom and Jean-Gabriel Pageau provided the other 2 goals for the Islanders, leaving Habs goalie Jake Allen definitely worse for wear. He would end up being replaced by backup Sam Montembeault after letting in 5 goals on 25 shots.

Anthony Beauvilier also picked up 3 assists for the Isles, further adding to their impressive performance and subsquently decimating Montreal. The Habs' only bright spot was the fact that Nick Suzuki, who scored one of the two goals for Montreal that night was named the 3rd star of the game.

The Habs did at least manage to out-shoot the Islanders 38-36 and win more faceoffs, 34-29. The Isles out-hit the Canadiens 26-22 and both teams each had 6 total penalty minutes for a small combined 12 PIM total.

Montreal's next outing is a Saturday evening matchup against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights at 7 PM. For the Islanders, they stay in the Great White North on Saturday evening, heading west to face the Winnipeg Jets at 7 PM.
