Quinn Hughes had a goal and 4 assists, Brock Boeser added 2 goals and an assist while J.T. Miller had another goal and 2 assists as the Vancouver Canucks decimated the winless San Jose Sharks 10-1 Wednesday night at the SAP Centre, emptying the aptly named "Shark Tank" in a hurry.
Yes, you read that right. 10 goals. Ten. This is gonna take a while to detail.
Boeser notched the first goal of the game, a PPG at the 2:23 mark, kicking off a 4-0 Canucks lead in the first period, the other 3 goals coming from Miller's own PPG at exactly 4 minutes, then Hughes exactly 4 minutes later at 8:00, and then finally, Boeser's 2nd of the game at 16:49 for the Canucks' 3rd PPG of the 1st period. Heading to the 2nd period, Vancouver slapped another 4 unanswered goals on the Sharks, starting with Ilya Mikheyev (3) at 1:03, Andrei Kuzmenko (3) at 8:47, Sam Lafferty (3) at 12:35 for the touchdown goal, and Pius Suter (1) at 17:26 for an astonishing 8-0 Canucks lead by 2nd period's end.
Vancouver wasn't done by the start of the 3rd period, either, as Anthony Beauvilier added his first 2 goals of the season to officially put the Canucks in double digits. At least San Jose got 1 back, courtesy of Fabian Zetterlund on the power play at 16:12.
The Canucks improve to 7-2-1, 2nd in the Pacific, with their next game a home tilt against Dallas on November 4, scheduled for 10 pm. San Jose remains winless at 0-9-1, suffering their 10th straight defeat (OUCH.), with their next game a home clash against Pittsburgh, same date and time.
