Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Arizona's Clayton Keller each had 2 goals as the Central Division All-Star team pushed past the Pacific Division All-Star team 6-4 Saturday afternoon at FLA Live Arena.
MacKinnon was the first goalscorer in the 2 10-minute-half game, needing 3:15 for a 1-0 Central advantage. Just over 30 seconds later, however, the Pacific would get on the board, courtesy of the Oilers' Connor McDavid. The Blackhawks' Seth Jones restored the Central lead to 2-1 at 6:52. The Canucks' Elias Petersson would respond to that tally 1 minute later. MacKinnon added the final goal of the 1st half by either side for his 2nd of the game to send things to the 2nd half with a 3-2 Central lead.
Keller was the first goalscorer of the 2nd period, needing a mere 18 seconds to give the Central team a 4-2 lead. They would extend that lead with a goal by the Blues' Vladimir Tarasenko at 5:32. The Pacific would answer back with Petersson's 2nd of the game 50 seconds after Tarasenko's tally to make it 5-3. The Sharks' Erik Karlsson logged the Pacific's final goal of the game at 7:27 and the Central team closed things out at 8:07 with a goal by Keller for his 2nd of the night.
The Pacific team did total more shots than the Central, holding a 22-14 advantage. Neither team racked up any penalty minutes or official hits, and the Pacific team also edged the Central on faceoff wins, 8-6.
