DeBrusk's First Career Hat Trick Kills Kings

Jake DeBrusk achieved his first career NHL hat trick as the Boston Bruins clobbered the Los Angeles Kings by a touchdown 7-0 Monday night at Crypto.com Arena.


The first period belonged to DeBrusk, as he would score the only goals of the frame to give Boston a 2-0 lead heading to the first intermission. He tallied his 12th and 13th goals of the season at just 1:01 into the game and later on at 13:37.


DeBrusk also opened the scoring in the 2nd period, completing his natural hat trick at just 0:53 for his 14th of the season to make it 3-0 B's. Later on, the Bruins would make it 5-0 by the end of the period after goals by Patrice Bergeron (15) at 11:40 on the power play and Taylor Hall (12) at 12:42.


Boston would add another pair of goals in the third, courtesy of Eric Haula (6) at 10:11 on the man advantage, and this would be the first of Haula's 2 goals on the night, his 2nd effort coming at 13:39 for his 7th goal of 2021-22.
