Ducks Oust Kraken in 11-Goal Thriller

On a Thursday night in Seattle, the Anaheim Ducks pulled away from the Seattle Kraken with a 7-4 win at Climate Pledge Arena thanks to a pair of goal from Troy Terry, who extended his points streak to 13 games. Terry picked up 3 points total that night, adding an assist to his 2 goals.

The Ducks got on the board first when Mason McTavish scored his 2nd of the year unassisted 4.5 minutes into the 1st period. It would be the only goal scored by either squad in the first frame of regulation.

The 2nd period, however, ended up being quite the goalfest. Once again, Anaheim drew first blood with Terry's 10th of the season past Kraken netminder Philipp Grubauer at the 3:10 mark. Seattle's Jaden Schwartz cut the 2-1 Anaheim lead in half 35 seconds later with his 3rd of the year. Roughly 3 minutes after that, Anaheim's Josh Mahura scored his 1st of the year past Grubauer to give the Ducks a 3-1 lead. However, Seattle would cut the Anaheim lead down again about 90 seconds later with Jared McCann's 4th of the season to make it 3-2 Anaheim. The Ducks added a 4th goal with under 5 minutes to go in period 2 courtesy of Kevin Shattenkirk, his 4th of the season.

And just like the 2nd period, the 3rd was another goalfest. This time, though, Seattle drew first blood with Jordan Eberle's 8th of the season 4 minutes in. Seattle made it a 1-goal 4-3 Anaheim, but once again, this didn't last long, as Hamphus Lindholm got his 1st of the season past Grubauer to make it 5-2 Ducks at the 9:26 mark. And then exactly 1 minute later, Jared McCann added his 2nd of the game and 5th of the season to make it 5-3 Anaheim. Two late goals from Sam Carrick, his 1st of the season and Terry's 2nd of the game sealed Seattle's fate and gave Anaheim the cushion they needed.

Anaheim outshot the Kraken 36-25 and outhit them 26-20. Seattle countered with a 27-25 faceoff win advantage, and each team had 9 penalty minutes each.

The Ducks' next matchup is a Sunday night home game against the Vancouver Canucks at 8 PM. For Seattle, they face the Minnesota Wild tomorrow night, November 13 at 10 PM.
