Jordan Kyrou scored a pair of goals and added a pair of assists as the St. Louis Blues defeated the Minnesota Wild 6-4 on a -6° F Saturday night at Target Field in Minneapolis.
David Perron opened the scoring for the Blues with his 8th of the season at 14:29. Less than a minute later, Kirill "The Thrill" Kaprizov, tied things at 1 with his 14th of 2021-22.
In the 2nd period, the Blues got a lightning-fast start with Kyrou's 11th of the season to give the Blues a 2-1 advantage just 27 seconds into the 2nd frame. Then about at the 9-minute mark, Vladimir Tarasenko (14) made it 3-1 St. Louis. At 14:46, they made it 4-1 with his 12th of the season on the power play. 3 minutes after that, Kyrou logged his 2nd of the night and 12th of the season to make it a 5-1 Blues lead. Minnesota did get one back with Rem Pitlick's 6th at 18:38 made it a 5-2 deficit for the Wild. The Blues, however, would counter with Torey Krug's 5th of the season to make it 6-2 St. Louis less than a minute later.
Oddly enough, St. Louis did not log any goals in the 3rd period, instead allowing a pair by Minnesota's Ryan Hartman (15) at the 8:40 mark and Kevin Fiala (7) at 14:22. It was still enough for the Blues to hang on the rest of the way, though.
