David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand each scored 2 goals as the Boston Bruins thoroughly defeated the 2-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning 5-2 Saturday night at Amalie Arena.
Pastrnak didn't need long to get his first of the night, making it 1-0 B's just 1:10 into the game. He would later add his 2nd of the night exactly 5 minutes later to make it 2-0, and that's where things would stay for the remainder of the opening period.
In the 2nd period, the Bruins got an even faster start, as it only took a mere 26 seconds for them to make it a 3-0 lead, courtesy of Brad Marchand (13). Much later on, at 14:54, the Bruins would make it 4-0 with Anton Bildh's 2nd of the season. Boston headed to the 2nd intermission with this lead.
The 3rd period saw Tampa Bay get the lightning fast start (no pun intended), as they only needed 24 seconds to get on the scoresheet, with Ondrej Palat (14) providing the sauce. At 11:20, Brayden Point made it a 5-2 Tampa deficit with his 13th of the season. That would be all for Tampa, though, as Marchand bagged his 2nd of the night at 17:11, his 14th of the season to seal the Lightning's fate.
