Pitlick Logs First Career Goal and Hat Trick, Wild Defeat Kraken 4-2

Minnesota Wild rookie Rem Pitlick scored his first 3 career goals in his NHL career to pick up his first career NHL hat trick as the Wild beat the Seattle Kraken 4-2 on Saturday night.

Pitlick logged his first career goal at the 12:33 mark of the first period, assists coming from Alex Goligoski and Ryan Hartman. It would be the only goal by either team in the first period of play.

In the 2nd period, Piltick once again scored the only goals of the period, coming at the 7:44 and 19:20 marks to complete a rare natural hat trick (three consecutive goals scored by one player).

In the 3rd period, Seattle finally got on the board with Marcus Johansson's first of the year on the power play at 9:19 to make it 3-1 Minnesota. The Wild added their 4th of the game at the 14:54 mark with Nico Sturm's 3rd of the season. Seattle made one last effort to try and tie it with Alex Wennberg's 2nd of the season, but Minnesota held on for the remainder of the game, which wasn't very long, as Wennberg's goal came with less than 2 minutes to go in regulation time.

Despite the 4-2 victory, Minnesota only beat Seattle in one offensive team stat, which was penalty minutes with a 6-2 advantage. (Now that I thnk of it, that's not really something you want to beat another team on lol) The Kraken had the advantage in shots, 30-22; hits, 34-22; and faceoff wins, 31-26.

Next up for Minnesota is a home game Tuesday night, November 18 against the San Jose Sharks at 8 PM. For Seattle, they play Wednesday night, November 17, at 10 PM against the Chicago Blackhawks.
